Second Task

BASIC INTENSIVE ENGLISH
SECOND TASK

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE: By the end of this activity students will be able to describe past events using affirmative and negative sentences with regular and irregular verbs in simple past tense to describe different events about their lives.

1. Organize five important Events in your life.

Start organizing your events by selecting photos or any kind of pictures that relate to those events. For example: newborn baby, baptism, first day in kinder garden, finishing your school year good excellent grades, high school graduation, your first formal pary (with or without a chaperone), moving to a new school or neighborhood, first date or first boyfriend/girlfriend, first trip abroad, etc. (to be approved by teacher)

2. Carefully describe each event in your life by writing, at least, 10 sentences that describe each of those special moments in your life. Use irregular and regular verbs and their correct pronunciation in the past. Check out grammar, structure, meaning, spelling and punctuation.

3. Prepare a power point presentation by using all the photographs or materials that relate to your events. The presentation must include mainly the pics or images. Each slide can include a heading alluding that event. The rest of the information has to be given orally. Be creative!!!  No reading from the presentation!!

4.   Present a written report about the events to be presented as your second task on the date specified by your teacher. This report has to follow a timeline (e.g. chronological order). It has to be hand-written, bond paper, folder and a fastener.

5.  Present your task in class. You will talk about your five events in your power point presentation. You have a maximum time allowed of 10 minutes, make the most of it!

2. make a drawing, cut a picture from a megazine or print from the internet someone wearing clothes for a specific season (Winter, Summer, Fall or Srping) and describe the clothes they are wearing. (a separate piece of paper in full color, handwritten)

3. write 10 sentences using comparatives and / or superlatives about the three cities in the article (PARIS, STOCKHOLM AND BEIJING), handwritten and in a separate piece of paper.
